Duration: One Academic Year (Part-time. One week-end a month, September to May)

What is the course about?

This course introduces students to the theory and practice of Sesame Drama & Movement Therapy. This approach uses story-making, play and non-verbal communication as an indirect, non-confronting, right-brain responsive therapy.  Its intention is to restore people’s listening to a deeper part of their being which is fundamentally healthy and creative, but which goes unrecognised, shadowed by attention on diagnosis or pathology.

What you will be doing?

Through experiential workshops and lectures, participants will learn techniques and approaches to using Sesame with various clients, groups and situations. You will also learn to lead a workshop with your peers and reflect on this experience from a personal perspective.

Why do this course?

  • Experience story making and myth enactment and the use of enacted archetypal story in therapy.
  • Experience the use of Body and Movement body awareness, Laban Motion Factors, Movement with Touch and Sound
  • Learn awareness of the clinical applications of this approach and its connection with other Creative Arts Therapies
  • Develop your own practice skills
