Creativity & Change (Level 9)

Duration: One Academic Year (Part-time. 2 weekend days / month Sept to May)

Course Fee: €680. This course is supported by Irish Aid’s Development Education funds and is therefore offered at this subsidised rate.

What is the course about?

Creativity & Change (level 9, 20 credits) is about creativity and its power to ignite empathy, passion and learning about our interconnected and interdependent world. It is about imagining more humane, just and viable ways to live in the world and to connect with how we think, live, and act in the world. This course explores how we can live as connected global citizens becoming part of the changes we want to see.

What will you be doing?

The course will combine presentations, case studies, and group participation, with a focus on experiential learning, to explore the arts as a tool for advocacy and social action. It is aimed at artists, community workers, youth workers, activists, educators, volunteers and anyone who is interested in exploring the connection between creativity, learning and change in the world and in nurturing possibilities to grow as connected global citizens.

Amplifying Voices

Amplifying Voices is a new scholarship programme to offer 100% subsidised places on the Course.  We want to provide opportunities to those who may have experienced barriers to accessing post-graduate education, such as those in Direct Provision, or Travellers. We can offer a number of free places to those who may not have otherwise been in a position to apply.  Scholarship applicants should apply as normal (link below) and add an additional document titled "Amplifying Voices", outlining what you feel you could contribute to the programme and why it is important for you to receive the scholarship.  For more scholarship info, email helen.okeeffe@mtu.ie
