AREAS OF EXPERTISE: MEDIA, JOURNALISM, COMMUNICATIONS 

Frank O’Donovan is a lecturer in the Media Communications Department at the Crawford College of Art and Design. He teaches in the areas of Media, Journalism and Communications. He worked as a journalist for 22 years and held a number of roles as a freelance and staff journalist with regional and national newspapers.  

As well as teaching in the Bishopstown campus, he is involved in the Reach mentoring programme, which offers support and guidance to first year students in their transition to third level education.  

He is currently pursuing the course of study ‘Coaching in Higher Education - A European Coaching and Mentoring Council (EMCC) Accredited Foundation Level Course in Coaching’. His research interests include the future of media education and coaching in third level education. 

Frank is also the director of ‘Story? – International Student Documentary Festival’, which is based in MTU for the past three years and has featured documentaries made by Irish and international students.
