TOUCH - A joint Exhibition of Textile students from 3 European Institutes, CIT Crawford College of Art and Design (CCAD), Vilnius Academy of Arts, Lithuania & Pallas University of Applied Sciences (UAS).
TOUCH focuses, amoung other things, on the principles of Anni Albers, a student of the Bauhaus. Exploring touch through materials and discovering new meanings is also central in the project.
The aim of the project was to broaden the limits of textile art, explore material in the context of artwork and to create a joint platform for the textile departments of the different countries.
The touring exhibition showcases the work of Irish, Lithuanian and Estonian textile students as part of the International exchange project shared by the three European textile departments.
Three exhibitors from each TOUCH partner institution have been selected for the 2019 touring show:
Cork: Lucy Hyland, Diane Keating, and Tina Whelan
Tartu: Anneli Kurm, Kristin Mällo, and Helene Puusep
Vilnius: Deimantė Bielskutė, Taisija Kalinina, and Severija Žukauskytė.
TOUCH exibited in Cork in March 2019 and Pallas UAS in May 2019.
