AREAS OF EXPERTISE:  ART & DESIGN EDUCATION

Mark Ewart is a Graduate of MTU Crawford College of Art & Design Cork, with BA (Hons) Fine Art, Dip Art & Design Teachers and MA Art & Design Education. He lectures in Art & Design Education within the Dept of Arts in Health and Education MTU and is also an art teacher in Ashton School, Cork. He has written extensively in local and national media including Irish Arts Review, The Irish Times and Circa Art magazine. He has also written a number of catalogues and exhibition texts for local and international artists.

As an educator/artist he explores the interface between physical and digital media to capture experiences from nature, childhood and the subconscious. He has contributed to NCCA curriculum reform as part of an Initial Teacher Education Working Group, School of Education, NCAD, Dublin. He has also coordinated and curated several exhibitions and contributed to the ATAI conference ‘Art Matters – Artist Teacher Activist’, Maynooth, 2016.
